Samuel Martin Hammock

Mr. Samuel Martin Hammock, 83, of Thomaston, died Tuesday, May 28th, 2013 at the Hughston Hospital in Columbus. Mr. Hammock was born in Butler, GA., a son of the late Dennis E. Hammock, Sr., and Julia Voncile Booth Hammock. He was a veteran of the Georgia National Guard and was formerly employed for a number of years in the Finishing Division of Thomaston Mills. He later worked as a maintenance technician at Upson County Hospital. Mr. Hammock was a long-time, faithful member of the East Thomaston Baptist Church. Mr. Hammock is survived by his wife, Wilma Marie Hammock; his son, Marty (Gail) Hammock of Thomaston; four brothers, Lawrence Hammock and Robert L. Hammock, both of Thomaston, Freddie W. Hammock of Cumming, and William M. Hammock of North Carolina; and two grandchildren, Brian (Lisa) Hammock and Mandy Marie Hammock, both of Thomaston. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Vicki Lynn Hammock.
