Rufus C. Heaton

Mr. Rufus C. Heaton, 92, of Thomaston, died Friday, August 2nd, 2013 at Providence Health and Rehab. Mr. Heaton was a native of Athens but had lived in Thomaston since 1939. he was a World War II veteran of the U. S. Army Air Corps. Mr. Heaton was a retired overhauler/fixer for the Peerless Division of Thomaston Mills. He was of the Pentecostal faith. Mr. Heaton is survived by his wife, Ruby Heaton; two daughters, Glenda H. Collins of Gray and Catherine (Freddy) Harp of Thomaston; two sons, Calvin (Gwinette) Heaton of Thomaston and Donald (Diana) Heaton of Rockmart; two brothers, Ralph Heaton and James Heaton, both of Thomaston; eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Felix Heaton.
