Pastor Kendrick was born in Thomaston on March 16, 1941, to the late Robert Lee Kendrick and the Late Leola Foy Kendrick. He was a 1959 graduate of Yatesville High School where he participated in 4H Club and won many pig shows, and he attended Mercer University where he took Bible Courses. He lovingly pastored Faith Baptist Church in Taylor County and New Harmony Baptist Church in Thomaston. He always said he loved the Lord and farming. He often shared the bounty of his crops with others. He could do most anything - a jack of all trades. He was the owner/operator of Kendrick Sanitation Services, where he worked until age 75. He had also been a firefighter for the City of Thomaston and had served in the Georgia National Guard for six years. He was currently a member of New Harmony Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher.
In addition to his parents, Pastor Kendrick was preceded in death by his sister, Bobbie Kendrick Corley. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sara Morgan Kendrick of Thomaston; a son, Tommy Kendrick, Jr.; two daughters: Phyllis (Scottie) Brooks and Doris (Wayne) Culverhouse; five grandchildren: Cody Waldrop, Caleb Culverhouse, Karter Brooks, Shawn (Brandy) Brooks, and Anthony Brooks; two great grandchildren: Annabella Brooks and Kaizley Brooks. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
