Mrs. Yvonne Craven Thompson

Mrs. Yvonne Craven Thompson, a beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 27, 2026. She was 88 years old.

She was born on January 13, 1938, in Upson County, Georgia. Yvonne dedicated much of her life to her work as a seamstress for Sherrell Lynn. She was known for her skill and care in her craft. Beyond her career, Yvonne had a true passion for crocheting and sewing, hobbies that brought her great joy throughout her life. In her later years, she found comfort in having the Bible read to her, a reflection of her strong faith as a member of New Life Pentecostal Church.

She is survived by her son, Clea Thompson and daughter-in-law Tanya; her devoted grandchildren: Morgan Yandle and her husband Dustin; CJ Thompson and his wife Becky; Windy Nobles and her husband Ryan; Jenna Hill and her husband Jonathan; Abbie Montgomery; and Kaitlyn Bradford. Yvonne’s love also reached her great-grandchildren, including Cadyn Yandle, Kyeleigh Thompson, Stephen (Keaton Henderson) Clark, Landon (Hannah Stewart) Webb, Trey Webb, Daisy Nobles, Tommy Nobles, McKenna Hill, and Araminta Hill. The family further includes great-great-grandchildren, Greyson Clark, Brantley Miller, Sadie Webb, and Jaxon Howard.

Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her parents, Wiley Cleveland Craven, Sr. and Naomi Ann Starnes Craven; her husband, Wyndell Dean Thompson, Sr.; her son, Dean Thompson; and her daughter and son-in-law, Valerie Leverett and Paul.

Funeral services for Mrs. Thompson will be held on Thursday, April 30, at 2:00, at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Pastor Roger Atkinson will officiate, and interment will follow at South View Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home.

Yvonne’s gentle spirit, her dedication to family, and her faith have left an enduring mark on all who knew her. She will be missed dearly but remembered with great love and respect by those she leaves behind.
