Mrs. Sylvia Lee Partain Green

Mrs. Sylvia Partain Green, age 79, of Thomaston, died Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Riverside Health and Rehab. 

Funeral services for Mrs. Green will be held Saturday, July 12, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Pastor Jereme Chaney will officiate, and interment will follow in Crystal Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening, July 11, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Green was born December 24, 1945, in Thomaston to the late Jefferson Lee Partain and the late Maine Ever Corley Partain. She was a 1964 graduate of Yatesville High School and was employed in the packing department of 1888 Mills. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, and spending time with family, and she was a University of Georgia football fan. Mrs. Green was a member of Jeff Davis Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Green was preceded in death by her husband, James Earnest Green; a daughter, Tammy Taylor; and seven siblings. She is survived by four daughters: Diane Green, Cornelia Green, Rhonda (Joshua) Hale, and Wanda (Chris) Dawson; a son, Keith Green; two sisters: Jeanie VanWinkle and Betty Baughcum; eleven grandchildren: James Haygood, Katie Bartlett, Ben Haygood, Stephanie Wilson, Nicole Nevins, Kristie Bruce, Tony Bruce, David Bruce, Alyssa Fowler, Micah Dawson, and Devin Hale; and nine great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
