Mrs. Marjorie E. Selph, 87, of Thomaston, died Saturday, January 12, 2019, at Riverside Health and Rehab. Funeral services for Mrs. Selph will be held Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the Fletcher-Day Funeral Home with Dr. Rex King and Rev. Spencer Selph officiating. Burial will follow in Upson Memorial Gardens. The family of Mrs. Selph will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Mrs. Selph was a life-long resident of Thomaston and Upson County, born on November 7, 1931. She was the daughter of William Washington and Myrtice Cleo McDaniel Emmett. Mrs. Selph was a former hand layer for the William Carter Company and retired with 30 years of service. Mrs. Selph was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. She loved cooking, especially cakes. She played the piano for over 40 years at the First United Pentecostal Church. Mrs. Selph is survived by two sons, David (Dini) Selph of Dayton, TN, and Rev. Spencer (Donna) Selph of Thomaston: a daughter, Roxie (James) Mauldin of Thomaston; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Thomas Selph. Fletcher-Day Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
