Mrs. Lauren Shields Mitchell

Mrs. Lauren Shields Mitchell, age 68, of Molena, Georgia, passed away Friday, October 2, 2026, at Upson Regional Medical Center.

Lauren was born on December 31, 1957, in Winter Park, Florida, to the late Richard E. Shields and the late Muriel Janet Churchill Shields. She worked as a software trainer.

Lauren enjoyed farming, raising chickens, and keeping bees, and she was involved in the Cattlemen’s Association. She was also a supporter of Al-Anon. Her interests included skydiving, an adventurous pastime, alongside the time she spent tending to her animals and farm.

She is survived by her husband, Phil Mitchell of Molena; and her two sisters, Jill Shields and Kim Schaefer.
