Mrs. Josephine Smith Williams

Mrs. Josephine Smith Williams, 85, of Thomaston died Sunday, March 20, 2015, at Providence Health Care. Funeral services for Mrs. Williams will be held Wednesday, March 23, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Rev. Joey Smith will officiate, and internment will follow in the New Hope Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Yatesville, GA. The family will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 22, from 6 until 8 PM. Mrs. Williams, a native of Upson County, was a daughter of the late George Edward and Mary Roquemore Smith. She was a 1947 graduate of R. E. Lee Institute. Mrs. Williams enjoyed camping was an avid lover of animals. She is survived by a son, Bob (Judy) Williams and a daughter, Mary Katherine Williams; two sisters, Geraldine (Ernest) Walker and Margie Lussi, all of Thomaston. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Williams, and a son, Charles Edward Williams. Three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive.
