Mrs. Gladys Harp Hicks, age 83, of 84 Pine Grove Road, Yatesville, died Thursday afternoon in Riverside Nursing Center in Thomston. Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 16, at 2 PM in the Yatesville Baptist Church. Rev. Steve Maguire and Rev. Arianna Eberle will officiate. Interment will be in the Yatesville United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Hicks was a native of Upson County. She was formerly empolyed with the William Carter Co. in the personnel department. She was a member of the Yatesville Baptist Church. Mrs. Hicks was predeceased by her husband, Roy Hicks. Mrs. Hicks is survived by two daughters - Mrs. Susie (Jeff) Haygood, of Yatsevillle, and Mrs. Meda (Billy) Sims, of Wyoming; one son - Mr. Steve (Janet) Hicks, of Culloden; one sister - Mrs. Isabell (Philip) Meeks, of Macon ; 2 brothers - Mr. Charles Harp, of Thomaston and Mr. James Harp, of Eastman ;Grandchildren - Page and Jim Woodall, of Thomaston; Steven Hicks, of Thomaston; J. B. III and Erica Haygood, of Yatesville; Hampton Sims, Weston Sims, and Madison Sims, all of Wyoming; Greart-Grandchildren - Corrine Woodall and Bo Hicks, both of Thomaston; Lane Haygood and Bentley Haygood IV, both of Yatesville. Mrs. Hicks will lie in state at Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home in Thomaston and at the church for 1 hour prior to the funeral. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 6 until 8 o'clock Saturday night. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Yatesville Baptist Church. Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
