Mrs. Brenda O. Huckaby

Mrs. Brenda O. Huckaby, 75, of Thomaston, died Saturday, September 23rd, 2017 at her home. Funeral services for Mrs. Huckaby will be held on Tuesday, September 26th, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Upson Memorial Gardens. The family of Mrs. Huckaby will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Tuesday from 1:00 pm until the funeral hour. Mrs. Huckaby was born in Thomaston on August 24th, 1942, a daughter of the late James Ira 'Tots' and Florence McElory Oxley. Until her retirement she was a splicer/winder operator at the Martha Mills Division of the B. F. Goodrich Company. She was a member of the East Thomaston Baptist Church. Mrs. Huckaby loved being a grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Ronnie Huckaby; a daughter, Wanda (Mark) Wilson of Thomaston; a son, Jerry Huckaby, Jr., of Thomaston; three sisters, Lilly Bell of Warner Robins, Charlotte Darling of Manchester and Faye Ayer of Thomaston; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Douglas Dowdy. Fletcher-Day Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
