Mrs. Bobbie Hanson Mulling, a beloved matriarch and cherished member of the Yatesville community, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Riverside Health and Rehab at the age of 95.
Born on Flag Day, June 14, 1930, in Manchester, Georgia, Mrs. Mulling was a graduate of Yatesville High School, Class of 1947. Her life was defined by her deep commitment to family, faith, and community. Alongside her late husband, Thomas Jordan “T.J.” Mulling, she was the owner and operator of Mulling Grocery, a historic, family-owned store that stood as a cornerstone of Yatesville from its founding in 1946 until its closing in 2014. The store was more than a place of business, It was a vital gathering place that fostered community bonds and reflected the enduring spirit of small-town Georgia.
Mrs. Mulling was known for her warmth, kindness, and joyful sense of humor. Her infectious laugh and welcoming nature made her a treasured presence to all who knew her. She had a special love for red, white, and blue, a reflection of both her Flag Day birth and her proud spirit. She dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren, who brought her endless joy. With a smile, she would often say she was never hungry, but could always eat. She was an active and faithful member of Yatesville Methodist Church.
She is survived by her sons, David Mulling of Yatesville, Donald (Kay) Mulling of Thomaston, and Vance (Debora) Mulling of Yatesville; her grandchildren, Stacey (Shane) Rhodes, Joy (Brian) Davison, Jill (Dusty) Starling, Jessi (Brad) Thompson, Chris (Becky) Mulling, and Chase (Jessan) Hager; her granddaughter-in-law, Alice Lawrence; her great-grandchildren, Sage Rhodes, Chelsy Tidwell, Michael Davison, Kayleigh Buck, Alden Davison, Jace Starling, Kadon Starling, Charley Thompson, Jersey Thompson, Addison Mulling, Palmer Lawrence, Jessa Hager, McCullough Hager, and Elliott Daniels; and her great-great-grandchildren, Daniel Davison, Seamus Davison, Khizen DeGraw, and Wren Lumpkin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Perry Hanson and Willie Highsmith Hanson; her husband, Thomas Jordan “T.J.” Mulling; her daughter and son-in-law, Vickie Mulling Lawrence and Ronnie Lawrence; her brothers, Milton and Wiley “Bill” Hanson; and her grandson, Chuck Lawrence.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 6, at 3:00 PM, at Yatesville Methodist Church. Rev. Dean Hemphill will officiate, and interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the service.
Mrs. Mulling’s life stands as a lasting testament to dedication, faith, and love. Her legacy will continue through the many lives she touched and the family she so dearly cherished.
