Mrs. Betty Ann White, age 81, of Thomaston, died Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin, Georgia.
Mrs. White was born November 18, 1943, in Troy, Alabama, a daughter of the late Lunsford "Buddie" Brooks and the late Elene Roberts Brooks. She was a seamstress for the William Carter Company for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed flowers and tending to her potted plants. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Lavon Brooks, Shirle Chavez, Little Buddie Brooks, Faye Mullins, Jake Brooks, and Henry Brooks.
Mrs. White is survived by her loving husband, Jessie White, her daughter, Jessica (Tim) Salter, and her son, James (Lisa) Melton, all of Thomaston; her brother, James Brooks of Phenix City, Alabama; her two grandchildren, Daniel Salter and Sarah Salter, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Mrs. White will be held on Saturday, May 17, at 2:00 PM, in the Chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Dr. Derrick Keeter will officiate, and interment will follow at South View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday evening at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home.
