Mrs. Barbara Self Hancock

Mrs. Barbara Self Hancock, 77, of Thomaston, died Friday, October 7, 2022, at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin. Funeral services for Mrs. Hancock will be held Sunday, October 9, at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Dr. Rex King and Dr. Ryan Christopher will officiate, and interment will follow in South View Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home Sunday afternoon from 2:45 PM until 3:45 PM.

Mrs. Hancock was born September 28, 1945, in Upson County to the late James Lawson Self and Annie Ruth Huckaby Self. She was a 1963 graduate of R. E. Lee Institute. Mrs. Hancock was a homemaker and was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hancock was preceded in death by a daughter, Becky Ann Hancock Timmins. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Barry Hancock; a son, Buddy (Dana) Hancock; and three grandchildren: Andrew Timmins, Shep Hancock, and Emma Hancock.
