Mrs. Alice Virginia Powers

Mrs. Alice Virginia Powers, 81, died Friday, December 12, 2014, at her residence. Graveside memorial services will be held Monday, December 15, at 4 PM, at Upson Memorial Gardens with Rev. Milton Hill officiating. Mrs. Powers, a native Upsonian, was born April 30, 1933. She was retired from the William Carter Company. Mrs. Powers was predeceased by her husband, Lewis Powers, and a daughter, Phyllis Ranow. Survivors include her sons, Phil (Debbie) Powers of Yatesville, Keith Powers of Yatesville, and Garry Powers of St. Jo, TX; four grandchildren: Steve (Sandy) Powers of Yatesville, Kelli (Jay) Elliott of Thomaston, Garry Powers and Benjamin Powers, of St. Jo, TX; and five great-grandchildren: Ansley, Makenzie, and Kade Powers of Yatesville; Dalton and Lauren Elliott of Thomaston. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
