Mr. X. E. Mitchell

Mr. X. E. Mitchell, 94, of Molena, GA, died Saturday, February 28th, 2015 at Upson Regional Medical Center. Funeral services for Mr. Mitchell will be held on Monday, March 2nd, 2015 at 11:00 a. m., in the chapel of the Fletcher-Day Funeral Home in Thomaston, GA. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Lanett, AL. Mr. Mitchell was born on December 24th, 1921, a son of the late James Redford Mitchell and Emma Louise Langley Mitchell. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. For several years after his discharge he operated a car repair shop in Lanett, AL and later owned and operated Mitchell Logging Company in Lanett. He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Lanett. Mr. Mitchell is survived by his wife, Ann Mitchell of Molena; two sons, Charles Mitchell of Lanett and Tim (Darlene) South of Molena; a daughter, Letha Ann Wesson of Lanett; a sister, Mevoline Mitchell Whittington; two brothers, Reo Mitchell and Dosie Mitchell; eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mabel Mitchell. The family of Mr. Mitchell will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Monday from 10:00 until 11:00 a. m.
