Mr. William E. "Eddie" Tompkins

Mr. William E. "Eddie" Tompkins, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at his home in Thomaston, Georgia. He was 65. Eddie was born on October 22, 1959, in Thomaston, where he was raised and spent most of his life. 

Eddie graduated from R.E. Lee Institute in the class of 1977 before dedicating many years to his career as a truck driver, with his most recent position at Estes Express. Eddie also proudly served in the U.S. Army, where he was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division and Military Police. Eddie had a lifelong passion for fishing, enjoying countless hours on the water. His love for the outdoors was matched only by his love for his family. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph E. "Surfer Joe" Tompkins and Anne Cobb Tompkins. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Eddie is survived by his wife, Angela Tompkins, his two sons, Adam Pasley and Allen (Heather) Higgs, and his grandchildren, Wilder Pasley, Joseph Higgs, Jayden Higgs, Riley Higgs, Gracie Pasley, and Georgia Ann Pasley.

The family will hold a memorial service at a later time.
