Mr. Wayne Everett Johnson

Mr. Wayne Everett Johnson, age 80, of St. Augustine, FL, died at his residence on July 25, 2026. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 8, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of the First Methodist Church of Thomaston. Rev. John Halley will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service.

Mr. Johnson was born July 25, 1946, in Thomaston, GA, to the late Ernest Dewey Johnson and the late Etta Mae Stewart Johnson. He was a 1964 graduate of R. E. Lee Institute before earning a bachelor of science degree in Industrial Management from Georgia Tech, graduating in 1970. Wayne enjoyed a 40 year career in the insurance industry, and he was recognized as National Agency Manager of the Year by Nationwide Insurance.  In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Darrell and Gene Johnson.

Survivors include his wife of twenty years, Frances Lifsey Johnson, of St. Augustine, FL; one son, Brent (Kelly) Johnson and granddaughter, Amelia Lynn, of Alpharetta, GA; two sisters-in-law, Janie Clark of New Smyrna Beach, FL, and Harolyn Castleberry, of Thomaston, GA.
