Mr. Terry Nathaniel "Nate" Martin, Jr.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Terry Nathaniel Martin, Jr., affectionately known as “Nate,” age 21, of Winder, Georgia, who passed away on Friday, August 7, 2026.

Nate was born on August 6, 2005, in Henry County, Georgia, a son of Sherrie Biggs Childers and Terry Nathaniel Martin, Sr. He was a 2024 graduate of Upson-Lee High School and was currently employed as a Deburring Specialist with Accurus. Nate attended City of Refuge.

Nate was exceptionally intelligent and possessed a curious and thoughtful mind. He was a gifted debater who enjoyed a good discussion and was never afraid to challenge an idea or defend his point of view. He loved gaming and strategy games, especially chess and Stratego, and had a deep fascination with history. Music was also an important part of his life.

Those who knew Nate will remember his intelligence, his many interests, and the unique way he viewed the world. The memories he made and the relationships he shared will remain with those who knew and loved him.

Nate is survived by his parents, Sherrie (Anton) Childers and Terry (Misty) Martin, both of Thomaston; his siblings, Tristen Nathaniel Martin, Christian Childers, Serena Lynn Chavis, Katen Kirschman, Bridget Childers, Colleen Franks, Abby White, and Deven Green; his grandmother, Diane Biggs; his uncle, Eric Hoover; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ted Biggs, Rhonda Hurst, and Joe Hurst; and his great-grandparents, Fred and Peggy Hoover.

The family will hold a memorial service on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at City of Refuge, South Campus, 803 N. Church Street, Thomaston, Georgia 30286. Pastor Jeff Deel will officiate.

Nate will be deeply missed, and his memory will be cherished by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
