Mr. Robert Pantelis

Mr. Robert Pantelis, age 75, of McDonough, Georgia, died at his residence Wednesday July 22, 2026. Mr. Pantelis lived a life defined by deep connection to family, steadfast dedication, and a spirit filled with warmth and curiosity.

The Family will receive friends on Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home, located at 628 North Church Street, Thomaston, GA 30286. All whose lives were touched by Mr. Pantelis are invited to attend and share in honoring his enduring legacy.

Mr. Pantelis was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on July 1, 1951, to the late Charles Pantelis and the late Marge Machenski Pantelis. After graduating high school, Mr. Pantelis served his country in the United States Army. Following his service he was employed by ABF as a truck driver. Mr. Pantelis exemplified a remarkable work ethic that inspired those around him. He approached every task, big or small, with a sense of responsibility and pride. Outside of his professional life, Robert found joy in many personal interests. He was a passionate lover of film, taking particular delight in the epic worlds of “The Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit.” His appreciation for stories went hand in hand with his love for history, which fueled thoughtful conversations and inspired reflection. Music was another cornerstone of his life—he had a natural talent for playing guitar and treasured the moments he could share music with others. Ever the collector, he took pleasure in gathering objects that spoke to his interests and experiences, each item holding its own special meaning.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Terri Giacalone Pantelis of McDonough; his son, John (Anastasia) Johnson of Pine Mountain; sister, Joann Cordie; brother, Alan Pantelis; granddaughter, Evelyn Johnson, and grandson, Robert "Nick" Johnson. 

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sister, Linda Simon. 

Mr. Robert Pantelis leaves behind a lasting imprint on all who knew him, defined by kindness, commitment, and a genuine love of life. His unwavering spirit and the memories he created with loved ones will be treasured always.
