Mr. Randall Osborne Butler, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grand father, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, April 19, 2026, at his home in Pembroke. He was 75.

Born on January 1, 1951, Mr. Butler dedicated over 50 years to building and improving the infrastructure that connects communities, leaving a lasting legacy through his work with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), Ashland Oil/Apac, and most recently as a Senior Inspector with Atlas Technical Consultants. Throughout his distinguished career, Randall Butler was known for his unwavering commitment to excellence and his passionate involvement in developmental projects that enhanced the daily lives of countless individuals. Beyond his professional achievements, he was deeply active in fraternal and community organizations, serving as a Past Master of Pembroke Lodge #469. His dedication extended to the Alee Shrine Temple, Tattnall Shrine Club, Alee Hillbillies, and Alee Road Runners, where he was especially honored for his heartfelt service in transporting children to Shriner’s Hospitals. Additionally, Mr. Butler served his community as a former city councilman for the City of Pembroke, embodying a spirit of civic responsibility.

Family was the cornerstone of Mr. Butler’s life. He treasured time spent with his loved ones, often enjoying vacations and cruises alongside his cherished wife of 53 years, Charlene Futch Butler. A devoted coach, he enthusiastically supported his children and grandchildren in their sports endeavors, imparting not only skills but also lessons in teamwork and perseverance. His coaching spanned a variety of sports including baseball, basketball, and football, enriching the lives of those who had the privilege of playing under his guidance.

Mr. Butler is survived by his beloved wife Charlene; their children, Randall (Michelle) Butler, Rodney (Tonya) Butler, and Ryan (Krystal) Butler; and a devoted circle of grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Carson (Austin), Mason (Molly), Bryce, Chandler (Thelma), Kolby (Charlee), Brayden (Ciara), Riley (Laney), Aubrey, Taylor (Michael), Erika (Wyatt), Reece; and great-grandchildren Aubree, Ellis, Gabriella, Eli, and Roco. He also leaves behind his brothers, Ray Butler and Pete Butler, and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Butler was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Osborne “Ozzy” and Ida Mae Butler, and his sisters, Kathy Nesmith and Kay Dickerson.

Funeral services for Mr. Butler will be held Wednesday, April 22, at 1:00 PM, in the chapel of Flanders Powell Funeral Home. Rev. Jason Weems will officiate, and interment with masonic honors will follow at Northside Cemetery in Pembroke. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 21, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Flanders Powell Funeral Home. Members of the Pembroke Lodge are asked to be honorary pallbearers. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make memorial donations in Mr. Butler's memory to Pembroke Lodge #469 or Alee Road Runners.

The community mourns the loss of a man whose lifelong dedication to his profession, family, and fellowship was a beacon of integrity and kindness. Randall Osborne Butler’s legacy endures through the roads he helped construct, the organizations he enriched, and most profoundly, through the love he shared with his family and friends. His peaceful passing, surrounded by those he held dear, marks the close of a remarkable chapter defined by service, devotion, and the steadfast values he lived by.
