Mr. Michael Duane Kellett

May 12, 1955 — June 2, 2025

Mr. Michael Duane Kellett, age 70, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025, at Harborview Healthcare in Thomaston, Georgia.

He was born on May 12, 1955, in Rome, Georgia. Duane enjoyed a fulfilling career at Thomaston Mills, where he was employed for 24 years and retired as a Department Manager. He was a proud graduate of R.E. Lee Institute, class of 1973. Duane had a zest for life, and his interests ranged from playing golf to expressing himself through writing poetry. He was an avid fan of Auburn and found great joy in giving lectures and engaging in conversations with others. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Duane often spoke of his greatest pride: his grandchildren, and he loved taking them on vacations. He would often remark how he wished he could have had grandchildren first.

Duane is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Pamela Shumate Kellett of Thomaston; his son, Ryan (Ashley) Kellett of Thomaston and son-in-law Wayne Lowry, also of Thomaston; his sister Ann (Ken) Latall; his brother David Kellett; his two grandchildren, Jackson Lowry and Emilia Lowry, and his nieces Maggie Kellett and Annie Kellett. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell Lee Kellett and Emily White Kellett; his daughter Bree Kellett Lowry; and his grandson Dayne Lowry.
