Mr. Joseph David "Joe" Daniel

Mr. Joseph David “Joe” Daniel, age 84, of Thomaston, Georgia, passed away Monday, October 12, 2026, at Macon Medical Center.

Joe was born on September 28, 1942, in Thomaston, Georgia, to the late Henry Emory Daniel, Jr., and Helen Lucile Wall Daniel. He was employed by Thomaston Mills for 19 years and later owned and operated Daniel's Small Engine for 33 years. Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, and dirt track racing. Joe married Martha Florence Phillips Daniel on September 14, 1962, and they recently celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary.

Joe is survived by his loving wife, Martha Phillips Daniel; his daughter, Charlene Raines; his grandson, Evan Williams; three sisters, Lynda Rhodes, Janie Eldridge, and Charlotte (Randall) Bickley; and his brother, Rodney (Marci) Daniel. Several extended family members also survive.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his son, Billy David Daniel, and his brother, Henry Daniel.

Funeral services for Joe will be held on Thursday, October 15, at 3:00 PM, at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Rev. Eddie Mathews will officiate, and anyone who desires to share a funny memory or story of Joe is welcome to speak. Interment will follow at South View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home.
