Mr. Jackie Eugene Roberts

Mr. Jackie Eugene Roberts, 69, of Thomaston, died Sunday, October 2, 2016 at Houston Medical Center. Graveside funeral services for Mr. Roberts will be held on Friday, October 7th, 2016 at 2 pm in Crystal Hill Cemetery with Rev. Claude Turner officiating. The family of Mr. Roberts will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Friday from 12:30 until 1:30 pm. Mr. Roberts was born in Thomaston on February 7th, 1947, a son of the late Guy Asbury and Sarah Wynelle Adams Roberts. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and served in Vietnam. Mr. Roberts was a retired stock clerk for the Piggly Wiggly Company. He was a member of the New Harmony Baptist Church. Mr. Roberts is survived by two daughters, Jan Denise (Steve) Chandler of Germany and Jill Marie (Gary) Thomas of Warner Robins; a sister, Ann (Buck) Adams, and a brother, Perry A. (Ruth) Roberts, both of Thomaston; four grandchildren, Christina (Mike) Ray and Brittany Chandler, both of Clarksville, TN, and Summer Thomas and Jason Hagler, both of Warner Robins; two great grandchildren, Landon Chandler and Avery Ray, both of Clarksville; and several nieces. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial contributions be made the the Jackie Roberts burial fund at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home.
