Mrs. Dianne Harbin Thompson

Mrs. Dianne Harbin Thompson, age 83, of Thomaston, passed away peacefully Monday, September 21, 2026, in Thomson, Georgia.

Dianne was born in Thomaston on March 2, 1943, to the late John Clarence Harbin and the late Elma Shepard Harbin. She graduated from R. E. Lee Institute in 1961 and attended the Women’s College of Georgia for two years. She served as the vital records registrar at the Upson County Health Department for many years.

Dianne was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and enjoyed traveling with her church group. She also enjoyed cooking, reading, and spending time with her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Miles (Mike) McGahee of Thomson; her grandchildren, Brooke McGahee and Brandon McGahee; and her great-granddaughter, Elli Grace Horne.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert P. Thompson.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 25, at 2:00, at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Rev. Jason Weeks will officiate, and interment will follow in Upson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home.
