Mr. Taylor was a native of Thomaston, born to the late Charlie Lewis Taylor and Elva Lee Hawkins Taylor. He was a 1963 graduate of R. E. Lee Institute and later graduated Gordon Military College. He continued his education at the Southern School of Pharmacy and graduated with a B. S. degree in Pharmacy. He worked as a self-employed pharmacist in Upson and surrounding counties for 40 years. Mr. Taylor attended the Mountain Gap Pentecostal Holiness Church in Pike County. He was a former member of the First Assembly of God Church in Thomaston. Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife, Gloria Calhoun Taylor; two daughters, Shay (Ricky) English and Sloan (Scott) Passmore, both of Thomaston; a son, Slate Taylor of Atlanta; a sister, Joan (Glenn) Matthews of Thomaston; a brother, Mark (Francie) Taylor of Carrollton; three grandchildren, Ellie English, Jules Passmore and Landry English; and a Father-In-Law, Mr. W. J. Shumate.
