Betty Doris Harp Huckaby

Mrs. Betty Doris Harp Huckaby, 81, of Thomaston, died Thursday, October 24th, 2013. Mrs. Huckaby was a life-long resident of Thomaston and Upson County, daughter of the late A. T. Harp and Birdie McKinley Harp. She was a retired legal secretary and had most recently been employed by the legal firm of Adams, Barfield and Dunaway. Mrs. Huckaby was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church and served as the Director of Vacation Bible School for many years. She was also a former Girl Scout Leader, a member of the Upson Regional Medical Center Auxiliary, and a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club. Survivors include her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry and Jane Huckaby, and a special cousin, Freddy (Cathy) Harp, all of Thomaston; and eleven first cousins. The family would like to publicly thank the staff of Thomaston Hospice for the loving, professional care extended to Mrs. Huckaby during her illness. A special thanks goes out to caregivers Martha Reeves, Cathy Howell, Sally Foster and Sonja Hudgins.
